Give it up for your 2020 Champions! After a dominant game, Georgia Southern triumphed over Louisiana Tech with a final score of 38-3. This marks the first R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl victory for the Eagles, putting an end to their opponents’ attempt to repeat their 2015 performance. Georgia Southern also breaks their opponent’s six consecutive bowl game streak, formerly the longest active streak in college football. Additionally, this win marks the 4th bowl game appearance for the Eagles, as well as their third bowl appearance in a row. Here’s another interesting fact: Today’s game is the first time these teams played against each other.
The New Orleans Bowl achieved a milestone for itself this year, celebrating its 20th anniversary. Similarly, R+L Carriers has now served 15 years as the title sponsor.
