San Diego Azteks

Quinn Kaehler leads San Diego from the QB spot. With only 1234 yards passing and 4 touchdowns Quinn relies on Donnel Pumphrey who had over 1000 yards and 12 touchdowns on his own. San Diego is relatively a low scoring team, averaging only 22 points per game and allowing 20 ppg.

Idaho Vandals

While Idaho is ranked near the bottom of the Sun Belt they can play spoiler to San Diego. While Idaho is averaging more points per game at 26, they are allowing 37, thus their 1-7 record. Idaho has a tough schedule, losing to Ohio. UL Monroe, Georgia Southern and Arkansas State.  Stealing a win from SDSU before taking on Troy and Appalachian State would be big for the Vandals season.  With Matt Linehan passing for more than 2000 yards and 9 touchdowns, Idaho will stick to their passing game, dishing to Joshua McCain who has 59 receptions through 8 games.

Bowl Predictions

The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl traditionally gets the first pick out of the Sun Belt conference. With Georgia Southern ineligible for bowl play, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Arkansas State are leading the way. It is projected that the 5 or 6th ranked Mountain West team will be tapped for the New Orleans Bowl.  Nevada, Sand Diego State and Utah State are in that category this week. We will be watching close as these last three weeks of play unfold. Here are the Sun Belt standings and the Mountain West standings.
