Ragin Cajuns Win

Championship Week Full of College Football Headlines

After a bumpy start it appears that UL-Lafayette has found their footing.  The Ragin Cajuns win moves them to 2-0 in conference play with their win over Texas State.

Bright Lights on Broadway

Lafayette QB Terrance Broadway led his team to victory. The Cajuns tallied up 276 yards rushing and only 240 passing. Broadway carried the ball 19 times for more than 100 yards. He passed for 225 yards including one touchdown.  Mr. Broadway picked up one run of 21 yards and was 14 for 21 passing. Quite a Tuesday night for the Senior from Baton Rouge. Besides Mr. Broadway it was the Lafayette defense that held the Bobcats far from the end zone all night.

Bobcats

This loss was Texas State’s first in conference play. Like ULL they have 6 conference games remaining. Next week’s game against UL-Monroe is a must win and they face Georgia Southern two weeks later.  Texas State was held three quarters without a touchdown. A lone field goal in the second quarter accounted for all their points for the first 59 minutes of play.  Lafayette’s  defense held Texas State to less than 100 yards rushing and QB Tyler Jones was 14 for 23 with only 176 yards.  Texas State only converted 4 out of 14 times on 3rd down. State also had half as many first downs as Lafayette.
